This past weekend, our team at Bridge Public Affairs was proud to play a role as Chattanooga hosted its first annual Motorcar Festival. The event was presented by the DeFoor Brothers, sponsored by Volkswagen Group of America and benefited Erlanger’s Neuroscience Institute.
Thousands of automobile and racing enthusiasts descended on the Scenic City for the weekend to see a variety of classic cars on display and watch as a number of those vehicles raced on a course that stretched through the downtown. An unfortunate accident on the first day injured two festival workers and was a reminder of the vital need Erlanger and its neurology department fill in the community. Fortunately, both of those injured are recovering after being cared for at Erlanger.
In addition to being a major sponsor for the festival, Volkswagen used the occasion to unveil their new five-passenger SUV, the Atlas Cross Sport, which will be manufactured in Tennessee and sold throughout North America. The new vehicle helps round out the company’s sport utility line up and will be particularly beneficial as it continues to gain market share in the United States.
The weekend was capped off by a raffle on Saturday night, where two Volkswagen vehicles and a Porsche were given away, all to the benefit of Erlanger’s Neuroscience Center. We were proud to announce the winners and support a cause whose impact will continue to be felt throughout the community.
