Brent began his career holding various roles in both Washington D.C. and Tennessee for U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander. From personal assistant to legislative assistant, he ultimately covered a broad portfolio of issues related to appropriations, energy, environment, conservation, transportation, and infrastructure.
Brent is a skilled advisor on the federal appropriations process, having worked as a professional staff member on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee. While counseling committee members, he developed extensive knowledge of the federal funding process, a hands-on understanding of how funding priorities and decisions are determined, and a deep base of contacts to draw upon in Washington and Tennessee.
Just prior to helping launch Bridge Public Affairs, Brent was state director for U.S. Senator Bob Corker. In that role, he had responsibility for the Senator’s six offices across Tennessee, providing management of daily operations and coordinating the Senator’s engagement with stakeholders and constituents in the state.
Brent was born and raised in Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He lives with his wife and three sons in Nashville.
